What is poetry to you?

What is poetry to you? What have you learned from writing it?

Poetry to me is when someone wants to express something at a certain time, of what they feel or someone else feels. Poetry can be almost anything, to a love letter, a farewell card, or a thought process of comprehending the universe of everything.

One of the things that I've noticed is that poetry needs a strong passion or feeling to write with. Sometimes there's a clear idea of what's at the end, or perhaps something blurred to keep you thinking.

  1. You didn't really say what you've learned. Frankly, I am consistently impressed by the depth of your written thoughts. You are much more complex than your "nerdy" exterior lets on. Be sure to answer the question.
